Backing Young Britain & the Future Jobs Fund
One Place has been nominated to take the lead for submitting a bid to the Future Jobs Fund across Maldon, Chelmsford, Braintree and Brentwood Districts.
The Future Jobs Fund is part of the wider Government initiative 'Backing Young Britain' which offers all Jobseekers reaching 6 months on Jobseekers allowance, aged 18 -24 the guarantee of an offer of a job, training or work experience. Hundreds of organisations large and small are taking part in the initiative and getting the best talent for their business.
As an organisation you will receive:
- The opportunity to recruit a young person into your organisation [aged 18 - 24 who has been on Jobseekers allowance for approaching 6 months]
- Full funding for the employees wages
- The opportunity to employ the young person after the six months have finished [however there is no obligation to do this]
- Support from our Project Team
and by giving a young person a break you will be able to: - Address skills gaps
- Build a workforce for the future
- Send a positive message to the local community
To be part of the first round included in this funding bid we are looking for organisations that can commit to employing a fully funded young person, whilst meeting the following criteria:
- Provision of a six month work placement [25 hours per week]
- Agreement that the job could not have been created without this funding
- Agreement that the job does not substitute for filling existing or planned vacancies
- Agreement that the job does not displace existing employees or contractors
- Creation of a job which has a community and/or green benefit
Brief details are required for inclusion in the funding bid which is to be submitted before the end of April and so it is important to act quickly. For further details and/or a discussion about this opportunity contact Vikkie Massey, Project Manager on 01621 784962 or by email
